Bay Area Writing Project’s (BAWP) Young Writers Camps are staffed by highly experienced classroom teachers drawn from BAWP’s corps of talented Teacher-Consultants, all of whom were selected through a rigorous nomination, application and interview process. They have participated in our competitive Invitational Summer Institute here at UC Berkeley and are helping transform the teaching of writing in the Bay Area.  

All are fully credentialed teachers, most with M.A. degrees. They love working with children and know how to motivate and encourage both the budding writer and experienced writer.  They make it their goal to provide the highest quality instruction and instill in each student an appreciation, excitement and enjoyment of writing.
